The Central Processing Department (CPD) Relocation Project at Beaumont Hospital in Troy, MI is a three phased, $3.2 million project that involves the relocation of the CPD function from its existing location in the 1st Floor Surgery Department to the 2nd Floor of the West Addition.
Phase 1 consists of building out approximately 3,000 sq. ft. on the 4th Floor of the Critical Care Tower.? This build-out will be office space for the MISD Coders that are currently located in the 2nd Floor of the West Addition at the future CPD location.? Once the MISD Coders are relocated to their new location on the 4th Floor, Phase 2 can begin.
Phase 2 consists of building out approximately 7,650 sq. ft. of space on the 2nd Floor for the new CPD location.? Included in this build out will be the installation of new sterilizers and a new cart washer, as well as additional CPD equipment.
Phase 3 of the project involved the removal of all existing CT so it could be replaced with a state of the art flash CT. This portion of the project was completed while working in the middle of a functional radiology department.
Also included in the project is the replacement of AHU #35 with a larger AHU to accommodate the increased demand due to the CPD function.
